Did you know that February is American Heart Month? I didn’t! Then I saw a #chdawareness post by @meg_nlo and it all came back to me. One of my sons was born with a congenital heart defect. He had his first open heart surgery when he was three months old, and another at 16 months. Now 16 years old, he’s grown tall, healthy, and way too old to want his mother to post his photo anywhere. ⠀ ⠀Remembering that time of hospitals, medications, and anxiety, I’m flooded by gratitude for the care he received, that we could afford it, and to live in a time and place where saving babies born with congenital heart defects is not only possible, but routine. ⠀ ⠀
In gratitude and in hopes of helping others experience such positive outcomes, Bottle Branch will donate 20% sales in the month of February to support Congenital Heart Defect Research through @american_heart And @childrensheartnetwork . Moreover, I’ll be giving a free (free!) set of heart gift tags like these to the first 10 orders over $20. More details and links are on my blog. #heartmonth #paperheartproject
Just finished up a batch of shipments for new retailers! Botanical cards, notepads, wrapping paper and more en route to, or recently arrived at @jardiniereflowers (NH) @detroitgarden (MI) @prairiepathbooks (IL) @bagoys (AK) @dgflowerstudio (NH) and a few others who (gasp!) aren’t on Instagram. If you’re near any of these businesses, I hope you’ll stop by, and maybe even send me a photo. (Complete list of current retailers on my website.)
